AOCMF Asia Pacific Board elections
04 September 2018
With the terms of current Asia Pacific Board members Alf Nastri (Australia), Byung-Il Lee (South Korea) and Simon Lou (New Zealand) drawing to a close, AOCMF Asia Pacific is calling for nominations and applications for these three board seats representing Australia, South Korea and New Zealand.
Interested AOCMF Asia Pacific members who fulfill the criteria below may apply and members are welcome to nominate colleagues who meet the criteria. Applications and nominations will be accepted until November 18, 2018.
AOCMF Asia Pacific Board positions are suited to highly motivated individuals of professional repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition, both within the Asia Pacific country of practice and Asia Pacific country of residence.
The elected members should be prepared to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions within the Asia Pacific region. They are expected to have the vision to contribute to the global AOCMF community and help the regional organization to set new standards, positioning AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.
The newly elected board members will serve a three-year term that starts July 1, 2019 and ends June 30, 2022. In their roles, board members will oversee all board activities of AOCMF Asia Pacific with a special focus on their respective territories.
To apply for a board position, candidates must be AOCMF members and fulfill the requirements provided in the job description.
Applications must be submitted to AOCMF before November 18, 2018. These will then be sent to the nomination committee, which will review all applications and in March 2018 select the candidates who fulfill the prerequisites.
The “first-past-the-post” election mechanism with two rounds (run-ffs) will be used, followed by a vote by AOCMF Asia Pacific Board members. The first runoff will only retain the two candidates with maximum votes. The second and last rounds will then require an absolute majority.
This election will be conducted by electronic voting in March 2019, and the result will be announced by end of April 2019.
New board members will be inaugurated in July 2019.
