AOCMF R&D Chair to be elected

The tenure of the current AOCMF R&D Chair will draw to a close of his term in June 2020. With this in mind, AOCMF announces the opening of this call for applications and nominations.
If you are interested and fit the criteria mentioned below, you may apply for this role of responsibility and leadership. You may also nominate a colleague who meets the selection pre-requisites. Please note: your applications or nominations must be submitted between April 2019 and July 2019.
AOCMF R&D Commission Chair position has been created for highly motivated individuals of international professional repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition.
The elected Chair will lead the AOCMF R&D Commission, overseeing and managing all R&D activities. Applicants are expected to have the vision to lead AOCMF R&D and set new standards to position AOCMF as a global leader in Craniomaxillofacial surgery research.
The successful candidate will become the AOCMF R&D Commission Chair for a three-year term from July 2020 to June 2023, with the option of re-election for a second term.
To apply for this position, the candidates must be an AOCMF member who fulfills the requirements provided in the Job description and must be willing to commit the requested time and to be able to work in a multicultural environment without any travel restrictions.
Applications must be submitted to AOCMF between April 2019 and July 31, 2019. These will then be handed to the Nomination Committee (NomCom).
The applications of candidates who fulfill the pre-requisites will be selected by the NomCom and forwarded to the electorate.
The electorate's composition is the voting members of the AOCMF R&D Commission, members of the immediate past AOCMF R&D Commission and voting members of the AOCMF International Board.
The "first past the post" election mechanism with two rounds (run-offs) will be used. The first run-off shall only retain the two candidates with the most votes and all others shall be dropped. The second and last round will then require an absolute majority.
This election will be conducted by voting in December 2019. The result will be announced by end of January 2020, and the formal transition of leadership will take place in July 2020.
