Who we are

A multi-specialty group of surgeons working together

for a common goal

Gregorio Sanchez-Aniceto & Gregory Farwell on why it's great to be part of a multi-specialty  group
"It’s a very unique forum compared to some other professional societies around the world."

Gregorio Sanchez-Aniceto

AOCMF is a multi-specialty community consisting of clinicians from all around the world, with different backgrounds and areas of expertise—oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, head and neck surgery, ophthalmology, and neurosurgery are among the specialties represented in AOCMF. With over 3,000 members, AOCMF is at the forefront of education and new developments, offering unique learning and networking opportunities to over 7,000 passionate surgeons worldwide, every year.

This active forum does not only encourage young surgeons to pursue fulfilling careers in CMF trauma and reconstruction, but also provides an efficient channel for improving patient care through the sharing of knowledge and best practices.

The history of AOCMF

Prior to 1958, there was no systematic investigation of the biology of bone healing or fracture repair, and knowledge in the field was sparse. Meanwhile, casting was the mainstay in fracture treatment, and serious long-bone fractures routinely resulted in permanent disability
