AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board announces the call for applications for the following positions on the AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board:

  • Chair
  • Country Representative Germany

The application period for these two posts will close by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.
  • Call for Applications: AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board Chair
    The first term of office of the current European and Southern Africa Chair Daniel Danielsson will come to an end in June 2018. AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board will begin the election process for this position in November 2017. Potential candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.

    Eligibility criteria


    To apply for this position, the candidate must fulfill the requirements provided in the Job description.

    The candidate should be a highly motivated individual of international repute and excellent scientific and clinical recognition regionally and globally. The successful applicant will lead the AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board to oversee and manage all activities of the board. The applicant must be able to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions. He/she should have a good regional and international reputation, strong personal relationships, and be recognized as a regional leader. He/she must also be a good communicator, with excellent skills in English. He/she is expected to have the vision to lead and contribute to AOCMF, and help set new standards that position AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.

    The successful candidate will become the Chair of the AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board for a three-year term (from July 2018 to June 2021). In the role of chair, the person will be accountable to the AOCMF Regional Board and the AOCMF International Board and coordinate all functions, budgets, and activities of the AOCMF International Board regionally, ensuring that the objectives of the AOCMF Regional Board are achieved.

    Election process


    Applications must be submitted to AOCMF by November 30, 2017. These will then be handed to the Nomination Committee. The Nomination Committee will review all applications and select the candidates who fulfil the pre-requisites by end of January 2018.

    A maximum of two rounds (run-offs) will be conducted. In the first run-off, either the candidate with an absolute majority (50% plus 1 valid votes) is chosen. Or, should no candidate achieve an absolute majority, only the two candidates with the most votes will qualify for the second run-off. The second and last round will then require an absolute majority.

    This process will be completed with formal approval of the new or re-elected chair at the AOCMF International Board meeting in March 2018.

    The name of the elected chair will be announced by early April 2018. He/she is expected to assume the post in July 2018.

AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board is looking for a Country Representative for Germany and will begin the election process for this position in November 2017. Potential candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications by midnight CET on November 30, 2017.

    The elected member should be a resident of Germany, and prepared to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions within the region. He/she is expected to have the vision to contribute to the global AOCMF community, and help the regional organization to set new standards in positioning AOCMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.

    The successful candidate will become a member of the AOCMF European and Southern Africa Board for a three-year term (from July 2018 to June 2021). In this role, he/she will oversee all board activities for AOCMF Europe and Southern Africa, with a special focus on Germany and German speaking territories in Europe.
