AO CMF Latin America Board Chair election

As the term of office of current AO CMF Latin America (AOCMF LatAm) Board Chair Fernando Briceño will come to an end by mid-2020, AO CMF LatAm invites interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria to submit their applications by midnight Colombia Time (COT) on June 21, 2019.
The AO CMF LatAm chair position is suited to a highly motivated individual of professional repute, with excellent global scientific and clinical recognition.
The successful applicant will lead the AO CMF LatAm Board by overseeing and managing all board activities. The applicant must be able to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions. She/he should have a good regional and international reputation, strong interpersonal skills, and recognition as a regional leader. She/he must also be a good communicator, with an excellent command of English. The new AO CMF LatAm Board chair is expected to have the vision to lead and contribute to AO CMF and help set new standards positioning AO CMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.
Eligible candidates are:
- Current or past members of the AO CMF LatAm Board
- Current or past members of any AO CMF global commission or task force (eg, AO CMF Community Development Commission, Web Editorial Group, AO Technical Commission, R&D Commission, Global Education Task Force)
- Candidates must be residents of Latin America and fulfill the requirements of the job description
The successful candidate will serve as the AO CMF LatAm Board chair for a three-year term (from July 2020 to June 2023).
To apply, the candidate must fulfill the requirements provided in the attached job description and be an AO CMF Member.
Applications must be submitted by e-mail to Regional Director AO CMF LatAm Micheline Bertolani at email@example.com, by midnight COT on June 21, 2019. The nomination committee will review all applications by June 30, 2019, to ensure that the prerequisites are fulfilled. The election will be conducted by electronic voting in early July 2019. The "first past the post" election mechanism with multiple rounds (runoffs) will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, she/he will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will be eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority.
The name of the elected AO CMF LatAm Board Chair will be announced by July 31, 2019. She/he is expected to assume the post in July 2020.
The electorate includes all voting members of the AO CMF LatAm Board; active international/regional AO CMF LatAm faculty with at least five years of AO teaching experience after board approval, who have attended at least one faculty education program; voting members of any AO CMF global commission or task force (AOCMF Community Development Commission, Web Editorial Group, AO Technical Commission, R&D Commission, Global Education Task Force) who are residents of Latin America. Candidates running for election are ineligible to vote in the election. Each voting member has one vote.

- A one-page letter of intent describing the candidate's top five priorities as future AO CMF AP Board chair
- AO Officer Application Form
- Signed copy of the AO Foundation Code of Ethics
