AO CMF Asia Pacific Board Chair election
As the term of office of the current Asia Pacific Board Chair will come to an end mid-2020, AO CMF Asia Pacific calls for applications.

As the term of office of the current Chair of the AO CMF Asia Pacific (AOCMF AP) Board, Francis Roasa, will come to an end by mid-2020, AO CMF AP invites interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria to submit their applications by midnight Hong Kong Time (HKT) on May 12, 2019.
The AO CMF AP Chair position is suited to a highly motivated individual of professional repute, with excellent global scientific and clinical recognition.
The successful applicant will lead the AO CMF AP Board by overseeing and managing all board activities. The applicant must be able to work in a multicultural environment with no travel restrictions. She/he should have a good regional and international reputation, strong interpersonal skills, and recognition as a regional leader. She/he must also be a good communicator, with an excellent command of English. The new AO CMF AP Board Chair is expected to have the vision to lead and contribute to AO CMF and help set new standards positioning AO CMF as a global leader in craniomaxillofacial surgery education and research.
Eligible candidates are:
- Current or past members of the AO CMF AP Board
- Current or past members of any AO CMF global commission or task force (eg, AO CMF Community Development Commission, Web Editorial Group, AO Technical Commission, R&D Commission, Global Education Task Force)
- Active AO CMF AP faculty with at least five years of AO teaching experience after board approval
- Candidates must be residents of Asia Pacific and fulfill the requirements of the job description
The successful candidate will serve as the AO CMF AP Board Chair for a three-year term (from July 2020 to June 2023).
To apply, the candidate must fulfill the requirements provided in the job description and be an AO CMF Member.
Applications must be submitted by e-mail to Regional Director AO CMF AP Naoko Kawai at email@example.com, by midnight HKT on May 12, 2019. The nomination committee will review all applications by May 20, 2019, to ensure that the prerequisites are fulfilled. The election will be conducted by electronic voting at the end of May 2019. The "first past the post" election mechanism with multiple rounds (runoffs) will be used. If a candidate achieves an absolute majority in any round, she/he will be the winner. The candidate with the least votes will be eliminated at each round. Another round will be carried out if no candidate achieves an absolute majority.
The name of the elected AO CMF AP Board Chair will be announced by July 31, 2019. She/he is expected to assume the post in July 2020.
The electorate includes all voting members of the AO CMF AP Board; representatives of the member countries (Japan, China, India Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand); and voting members of any AO CMF global commission or task force (AOCMF Community Development Commission, Web Editorial Group, AO Technical Commission, R&D Commission, Global Education Task Force) who are residents of Asia Pacific. Candidates running for election are ineligible to vote in the election. Each voting member has one vote.
